FLC Performing Arts Statement of Acceptance

The Fort Lewis College Department of Performing Arts supports the dismantling of systematic racism within our department and college. We hear the voices of our BIPOC and LGBTQ communities and respond with humility and apology. We recognize that actions-not words- will motivate our department to evolve and change, and in doing so, bring about great transparency and understanding amongst all of us. As the Performing Arts faculty, staff, and students, we will work to create a safe space for artists to learn, create, and grow. We want to acknowledge and thank the individuals who shared their thoughts and stories with us to construct and institute an accurate statement that will lead to the change we seek in this department and institution.
